Uplinq 2013 App To Showcase Latest Technology Innovation From Qualcomm

SAN DIEGO, California, September 3, 2013 – eMbience Inc., mobile developer and strategist, today announced the upcoming availability of Uplinq™ 2013, a comprehensive mobile application enabling registered participants to enhance and customize their Uplinq conference experience.

The application is powered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s Gimbal™ context aware platform and utilizes its geofencing technology and proximity beacons to deliver timely and relevant information throughout the conference, including coupons from local businesses near the convention center.  It also enables real-time information such as how many people are in particular sessions. Qualcomm Technologies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated.

In addition, conference attendees will be able to stream music from their mobile phones to AllJoyn-enabled speakers in the Chill Zone area of the Mobile Innovation Showcase. AllJoyn, an open source software framework developed by Qualcomm Innovation Center, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm, enables connectivity and control capabilities to be quickly integrated into audio equipment such as speakers. When integrated into media streaming applications, such as this Uplinq 2013 conference app, AllJoyn allows users to connect, group and stream music from their own playlist to nearby AllJoyn-enabled speakers.

The Uplinq 2013 application will also feature a scavenger hunt using technologies from several Qualcomm subsidiaries, including Gimbal, AllJoyn and Qualcomm Vuforia™ technologies. A product of Qualcomm Technologies, the Vuforia™ platform enables apps to see, allowing attendees to collect scavenger hunt cards by recognizing certain images viewed through their device’s camera. Each scavenger hunt card collected via the app will feature discounts and promotions from local-area restaurants.

“The conference app showcases the combination of Qualcomm Technologies’ new technology with eMbience’s eM Card framework, delivering relevant interactive experiences triggered by the user’s behavior,” said Nimish Shrivastava, CEO and Founder of eMbience. “It’s an exciting innovation applicable to all companies striving to engage their customers and drive loyalty via hyper-relevant marketing programs.”

Attendees will also be able to manage and enhance user profiles within the app, which are then accessible to other conference goers. User backgrounds are based on eMbience’s eM Profiles, a comprehensive framework that individuals or groups can use to create, manage and share unique profiles complete with photos, media, aggregated social streams and favorite mobile apps.
